OUTREACH TO BAB-ES-SALAM ORPHANAGE HOME
With deep gratitude to God, Jesulana Hope Alive Foundation records yet another successful monthly outreach carried out on 22nd August, 2022, through a visit to Bab-Es-Salam Orphanage Home, located at 14 Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State. This visit was in continuation of the Foundation’s divine mandate to reach out to the less privileged, offering love, encouragement, and material support to children in need. We also learnt that the home was founded by Late Alhaji Iyanda Folawiyo (OFR).
Unlike some previous visits, this outreach was especially heartwarming because we had the privilege of meeting many of the children, who received us warmly. Their presence brought life and meaning to the visit and reminded us once again of the importance of showing these children that they are loved, valued, and remembered. We were informed that the children in the home are referred to as “gifted children,” a beautiful expression intended to build confidence in them and help them see themselves not as outcasts, but as individuals with purpose and potential.
During our discussion with the caretaker, we gained valuable insight into the home’s history and vision. We were told that Bab-Es-Salam Orphanage Home was established in 1990 and currently houses 52 children. We also learnt about their efforts in vocational and extracurricular training, including ICT education, all aimed at helping the children grow into independent and responsible adults.
To the glory of God, the Foundation donated garri, rice, spaghetti, Maggi, Golden Penny Noodles, Chicken Chikki, and semolina. Present during the visit were Mr. Festus Jesulana, Mrs. Adenike Jesulana, Mr. Paul, Mr. Olamilekan Daniel, Mr. Godwin Jesulana, Mr. Favor Jesulana, and Damsel Yadah Jesulana. This outreach remains another meaningful milestone in our journey of compassion and service.
