OUTREACH TO WINISEPH CARE HOME
With hearts full of gratitude to God, Jesulana Hope Alive Foundation records yet another meaningful outreach carried out on 20th October, 2022, through a visit to Winiseph Care Home, a home for the elderly located at Omole Phase 1 Estate, Lagos State. This visit was especially significant because it marked the Foundation’s first outreach to a home dedicated specifically to the care of elderly men and women aged 65 years and above. It was a deeply touching experience and a beautiful reminder that caring for the elderly remains an important part of the Foundation’s vision and divine mandate.
During our visit, we learnt that the home was envisioned, conceived, and founded by Professor Kofo Odusote, who is presently in her seventies, and that the home has been in existence for twelve years. We were informed that the facility currently accommodates twenty-three elderly residents and is committed to giving them dignified care in a safe and peaceful environment. Our attendant explained that caring for the elderly requires patience, compassion, expertise, and a genuine sense of calling. His words, experiences, and encouragement deeply moved us and further strengthened our resolve to remain faithful to this course.
We were also privileged to tour the facility and see the serene environment in which the residents live. Some were resting, while others were relaxing in the sitting area. It was a humbling and memorable experience to witness the level of care given to them.
To the glory of God, the Foundation donated spaghetti, Mama Gold Semovita, garri, Maggi Chicken Flavor, Golden Penny Noodles, half bag of rice, and a cash gift of N5,000. Present during the visit were Engr. Festus Jesulana, Mrs. Adenike Jesulana, Engr. Paul, Mr. Olamilekan Daniel, and Engr. Joshua Ayanda. This outreach remains another precious milestone in our journey of compassion, service, and impact.
